Why an InDesign Course and not Photoshop?

Why InDesign not Photoshop?

Aren't they one and the same and which one is best?

It's not a matter of which one is best but which one is right for you. It's that simple. It is true you can use Photoshop to create materials such as flyers, banners and documents and there's no doubt how powerful a tool it really is. However it's major strength and reason for living is photo editing -that was what it was born to do and that it is what it excels at. InDesign is a different kettle of fish entirely.

Why use InDesign?

Adobe InDesign is used to layout objects in boxes across one page or multiple pages and not only gives a beautiful look to documents but gives control over automated elements such as page numbers, Masterpages and TOC's. One example that's easy to give is with multiple page documents which InDesign is built for - you set up the original pages as Masters and then just add and remove them as you wish. Page numbers are automated so they update as the pages change - this is all possible in Photoshop but takes a lot of time and we mean a lot of time.

As well as images you can add video and audio to enhance online documents and create lots of cool effects like lightboxes (online photo gallery) to enhance your digital documents.
