InDesign Training in Nottingham..

This month we delivered an InDesign Training Course in Nottingham for the fabulous University of Nottingham, the School of Life Sciences biological photography Msc students to be precise. It was a lively training course and we really did enjoy our time on their beautiful campus in Nottingham.

The brief was quite simple, train the students to work with Adobe InDesign on the training so they could complete their objective by creating, designing and publishing their own printed books including the photography and other work they had covered during their studies.  In essence what they needed to produce was a beautifully laid out book with the best of their work included.

This was a two day course that covered InDesign from the ground up and then looked into the elements of design and good layout by using grids, guides, colour and styles.  As most of the students had never used InDesign before we started with the basics but the overall intent was to produce an aesthetically beautiful and professional looking book. So we showed the students learnt about colour sampling and styles to create a consistent look across their book and worked on different layouts to find out how best to show their photography at the end of the year.
